07/06/1949 - 09/02/2023

Service technician WW

Belgium

Rik started at Clayson in the early 1970s. He started as a young lad in the sheet metal shop and a year later he started in after-sales service worldwide as a service technician for combine harvesters, forage harvesters and presses.

He travelled halfway around the world reworking, repairing, adjusting or maintaining harvesting equipment and, above all, to visit the many loyal customers in order to obtain useful information for engineering.

Rik was also responsible for preparing the harvesters and running the bar at various agricultural fairs (Sima – Paris, Agribex – Brussels)

Rik also had to assist a lot with photo and video sessions of harvesting machines, you can find pictures of Rik in many brochures.

He was also responsible to make the assembly manuals.

Outside the office hours, Rik was a member of the Sint-Elooi committee of New Holland Zedelgem, helping to organize the Sint-Elooiparty and Saint Nicholas celebrations.

In the last years of his career at New Holland, Rik was active in the international training centre in Zedelgem. He loved nothing more than preparing machines for the technical courses and building training materials.

Rik took early retirement at the age of 56.

I personally remember Rik as a very good technician, but also a jovial person who could motivate his colleagues very well.

I have had the privilege of working with Rik, I have been on the road with him quite a bit in Belgium and abroad and I have been able to learn an incredible amount from him.

We travelled a lot, seen a lot, worked a lot but also laughed a lot!

Rik, you were a great colleague, we will miss you…
