Here below my short note about Norberto

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the Norberto life there had been 4 different working periods

1)  WORKING IN FIAT AUTOMOBILE USA  :

Norberto was just 18 and was living in USA with his family when he was hired by FIAT Automobile USA in 1955

From the very beginning his job was inside the After Sales Service

2) WORKING IN FIAT AUTOMOVEIS BRAZIL

When FIAT decided to invest in the Brazilian market,  Norberto was included in the selected group of specialists

sent to Belo Horizonte for building the big factory and organise all the network of Dealers for Sales and After Sales

Service through the huge country.

3) WORKING IN FIAT AUTO FRANCE

From 1979 to 1985 Norberto was the boss of the After Sales Service in France,

where FIAT was selling in that period  about 100 000 cars per year

4) WORKING IN FIATAGRI - NEW HOLLAND

As you know, the Company FiatAgri was created putting together 4 brands : Fiat Trattori, Laverda, Hesston,  Braud.

In the After Sales Service we needed a boss with great experience in order to unify in an efficient organization the 4

different groups, to build up a strong esprit de corps and create a common corporate culture .

We needed also somebody with international experience for overcoming the parochial  mentality of the previous management in Modena.  Norberto, who then was 48 with already 30 years of international experience  in  both America and Europe ,  appeared to be the perfect candidate. So he had been "stolen" to Fiat Auto France by FiatAgri.....

We met him first time at the end of January 1985 .  For the whole year 1985 he didn't carry on any important modification, he tried just to understand  well the complex  peculiar business of the agricultural machinery.  Then he started to improve the organisation and create a shared culture, but always respecting the distinctiveness of every product line and every location.  When FiatAgri merged with Ford New Holland in 1990, he faced the challenge of this merging using common sense and  respecting everybody.

He was a  competent boss and a good fellow.. I will miss him

He has left his American wife, his beloved daughter (an architect) and 2  grand-daughters
